‘Abu-Ghazaleh & Co. Consulting’ and Axosomatic Sign Cooperation Agreement
To support universities in greenhouse gas emissions reporting
AMMAN – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co. Consulting (TAG-Consult), a member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital (TAG.GD), has signed an agreement with Axosomatic – a company specialized in consulting, Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions and sustainability – to cooperate on the provision of services on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting and related environmental consulting services for the University of Jordan, through Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Quality Assurance in Education (TAG-EDUQA), a member of TAG.GD.
The agreement aims at supporting universities in assessing and preparing their GHG emissions reports in accordance with the international sustainability standards, contributing to the enhancement of universities’ ranking for environmental sciences and ecology , especially QS World University Sustainability Ranking and Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings assessing universities’ performance relevant to UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The agreement was signed by TAG-EDUQA Executive Director, Dr. Maria Tawalbeh, and Axosomatic CEO and Chief Consultant, Dr. Nabeel Murshed.
Commenting on signing the agreement, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and founder of TAG.GD, stated that the cooperation comes within the efforts exerted to expand the contributions of the universities in overcoming environmental and social economic challenges. Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh referred to the essential role of the universities in applying the best environmental and administrative practices, developing educational and scientific research geared toward achieving sustainable development goals and enhancing environment awareness among students and members of local community.
Pursuant to the agreement, TAG-Consult and Axosomatic will undertake the preparation of detailed greenhouse gas emission reports, conducting data analysis, and calculating emissions across all Scopes (1, 2, and 3).
In addition, the two parties will formulate emission reduction plans in accordance with ISO Net-Zero Guidelines by 2030 and by 2050.
The partnership will include reviewing the University of Jordan’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies, developing a sustainability manual, and designing guidelines to enhance the University’s environmental performance.
These efforts will be supported by ongoing monitoring of the quality assurance of all deliverables.
At the end of the signing ceremony, the two parties emphasized that this agreement comes in line with supporting national efforts towards achieving environmental sustainability, as well as enhancing the universities’ roles as prominent leaders in adhering to the World Environmental and Social Responsibilities.
